SPOKANE, Wash (May 14, 2025) - Approximately 500 youth exhibitors, along with over 700 livestock entries, travelled from across the Pacific Northwest for the 90th annual Junior Livestock Show of Spokane. The event was held at the Spokane Co. Fair & Expo Center and is a long-standing tradition in the region. The annual event marks the culmination of a yearlong project for these youth exhibitors, who seek to be named champion in their respective division and take home the coveted purple banner.

“Our board and dedicated group of volunteers are to be commended for hosting a successful show and sale. It was a great week of celebrating youth in agriculture and promoting livestock. Looking back on 90 years, while also seeing what lies ahead for our exhibitors is extremely gratifying.” said Lori Williams, executive director. “We had an exceptional group of young individuals take the lead in several key roles and I’m excited for their continued involvement in our organization. They are the future leaders of the ag industry.”

In addition to competition in the showring, communities gathered, friendships were made, a successful market auction was held, and several activities, speaking and skill contests filled the four-day schedule. Home of the Washington FFA State Livestock Judging Contest, over 230 members travelled to vie for the state title. Over 150 youth participated in the 4-H division of the judging contest. With increased interest in Meat Evaluation, over 100 youth aimed to gain knowledge of the end product through a rigorous meats judging contest.  Additional contests included Vet Science and various Leadership Development Events.

In an effort to share agriculture and connect consumers with where their food comes from, the Northwest Natural Resources Institute hosted a Farm Fair in conjunction with the event, where over 1,100 elementary students from Spokane and surrounding school districts rotated through various stations to learn about wheat, cattle, sheep and dairy production, and more.

The 91st Junior Livestock Show of Spokane is set for April 29-May 2, 2026 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center. Archived livestreams of the 2025 shows are available at ringsidelive.co
